Bank’s Request in Foreclosure Cases is Struck Down

The following article is brought to you by the MiamiHerald.Com.

A U.S. District Court judge’s decision Friday struck down a request by two banks to make Fort Lauderdale law firm Ben-Ezra & Katz stop withdrawing from foreclosure cases.

JPMorgan Chase and Chase Home Finance terminated their relationship with foreclosure processing firm Ben-Ezra & Katz in March, and have sued the firm over its actions in the last six weeks. The breach of contract lawsuit suffered a blow on Friday when a federal court indicated that the lender failed to prove its case.

Judge James I. Cohn ordered Chase to find new counsel for its foreclosure cases by May 2.
